Welcome to Crictier Strat! I'm Gabriel, the Lead Developer on this project.
Originally from the Philippines and not knowing much about cricket, it took me some time to comprehend exactly how I'd go about building and developing. However, after a lot of learning and brainstorming, I was able to bring my understanding from other sports, such as basketball and baseball, into the product building (and of course, was guided through the journey by cricket fanatics).
Before working on the platform, I never realized how important real-time insights affect sport. Usually, decisions from coaching staff most likely need perfectly-called time outs or inefficiently relaying instructions in a lagged timeframe. The good thing about cricket is that ball-by-ball data can easily be encoded, especially with Crictier Strat. With simple information such as how many runs were scored, how the ball was delivered, and the shot type and placement the batter made, you can quickly tell the projected score before the innings end or which partnerships work best. This is all made possible with live tagging of the game and curated graphs and plots to base decisions on.
Watching the games live was a part of the job, and so I did. I closely followed games in leagues such as the PSL, and even used the software to see its form factor when you're close to the action. Aside from the usual graphs such as the strike rate zones and wagon wheels for shot placement, the Crikey AI chatbot can interpret those graphs and numbers for you after each delivery of the game.
I can proudly say that this platform makes decision making as coaches more efficient and timely, especially when your decisions in the game are actually backed by real live statistics and data. With Crictier Strat, you get the extra edge in cricket strategy: one delivery after another.
